Alexandros Paraskevas
Alexandros Paraskevas (PhD) is Professor in Strategic Risk Management and Director of ICHARM (International Centre for Hospitality and Aviation Resilience Management) at the London Geller College of Hospitality and Tourism (University of West London). He has worked for almost 15 years in various hotel operations management positions with Marriott and Sheraton. Alexandros researches the governance and management of risks/crises both at an organisational and tourism destination context. A visiting scholar in Europe, Asia and Central America, he has worked with hotel and tourism organisations on safety, security and crisis communications strategies. His research on Human Trafficking in the tourism sector produced the first EC-funded anti-trafficking training toolkit and management guidance for the European hotel industry, endorsed by major international groups and the Institute of Hospitality in UK. He is one of the founding members of the UK Modern Slavery Hotel Action Committee.
